THREE IN A ROW FOR SENIORS

After two successful league matches we travelled to Northamptonshire to play a friendly match at Kingsthorpe Golf Club situated in the centre of Northampton.

On a warm day the relatively short but tricky course was well presented with many testing pin positions predominantly on the front of the greens. A lunchtime advantage from the greensomes of 4.5 to 1.5 points was quickly wiped out with Northamptonshire taking the opening two fourballs to edge into the lead.

A very even third match, which ended all square, stopped the Tudor Rose county from getting too far ahead and Warwickshire with victories in matches 4, 5 and 6, eventually enjoyed a comfortable win of 11.5 to 6.5 points.

The matches were played in an excellent spirit as always, and we thank Kingsthorpe Golf Club and Northamptonshire for their hospitality both on and off the course.

We now look forward to our next two outings next month, when during the same week, we play a home friendly against Lincolnshire at Shirley Golf Club before later travelling to the Worcestershire Golf and Country Club to play the hosts in our third league match.
