UNION AGM & NEW PRESIDENT

The Warwickshire Union Annual General Meeting was held last Thursday at Copt Heath Golf Club where a number of items were reported on and ratified.

Prior to the meeting a report from the Board was circulated to all Clubs and attendees, a copy of which can be downloaded here... Board Report 2016.pdf (please note the file is large and may take some time to download)

The first items on the agenda related to the finances of the Union and were reported on by Robin Brennan, County Treasurer. The Accounts for 2014-15 were ratified and whilst pointing out how volatile the changes to membership can be, the proposal of retaining the Union affiliation fees at £8.50 for 2017 was also approved. Robin was later proposed to continue his term of office as County Treasurer which was approved at the meeting.

Next on the agenda was the election of the Unions next President. The Board had proposed Bob Harrison from Copt Heath for the position and after outgoing President Graham Hayes gave a brief outline of Bobs achievements the proposal was ratified. Bob thanked Graham for all his hardwork over the last 2 years and chaired the remainder of the meeting.

Next in the meeting it was proposed that our current 2nd Team Captain, Chris Leonard, should be put forward for a second term of Captaincy after his excellent management of the team and their results over the last two years. This was approved by the meeting.

It was also approved for our voting member John Duncombe, to remain on the Board of Directors and continue to hold this important role between the Warwickshire Union and England Golf.

Many thanks to Copt Heath for hosting the meeting.
