WARWICKSHIRE UNION DINNER
The Warwickshire Union held their Annual Dinner on Friday 27th November at Copt Heath Golf Club.
Attendees included County players, officials and members from Warwickshire affiliated clubs along with guests of surrounding Counties.
Following a superb three course meal speeches were made by England Golf's Past President Ray Saunders, County President Graham Hayes to highlight some of the successes made both in team golf and individually throughout the season.
Notably the impressive new Mens Order of Merit trophy was awarded for the first time in memory of Bill Nicolson, and was won by Louie Pett from The Warwickshire, closely followed in second place by Antony Gascoigne (Maxstoke Park) and third Danny Launchbury (Coventry). Louie had a fantastic year and also won the Midland Order of Merit for 2015, and was presented with his medal by President of the Midland Union Bob Davies.
Team achievements were the success of our County Mens 2nd team winning their league, where Captain Chris Leonard received the trophy from Bob Davies and all players were called upon to collect their medals.
The Warwickshire Boys Team were also congratulated on a great year by winning the Midland Boys League, and Team Manager Dean Guy was presented with the Boys League Trophy from Midland Union President Bob Davies.
Following the presentations comedian Ian Irving took the floor and closed the evening off in style.
