The match against Gloucestershire was played at Shirley Golf Club. on Mondfay 6th July.
We set off in rain, having discussed foreshortening the match should conditions warrant and the Pro shop on standby to sound the claxon. But fortunately the BBC got the weather forecast wrong, our alternative strategies were not required and we all returned to the Clubhouse dry!
Our matches were played in great spirit and the beautifully prepared course proved quite tricky for some. Not for the first time the Warwickshire team found themselves giving the majority of shots but unfazed 3 pairings recorded 5/4 wins.
The day was completed by a wonderful buffet; Shirley GC could not have been more accommodating and hospitable.
