On Saturday 28th June 2014 Warwickshire girls played a friendly match against Nottingham Girls at Nuneaton Golf Course. It was decided to use this fixture to introduce 7 new young ladies to County golf - 3 girls from Warwickshire and 4 from Nottingham and handicap’s started at 21. It was a great success with some fantastic golf played. Many thanks to Nottingham’s County Captain Jane Fowler for attending and agreeing to start the girls on their way, and to Nuneaton Golf Course for the courtesy of the course. Ellie Liggins-Hughes agreed to be Captain for the day and it was my pleasure to award her with her County Colors at the meal afterwards.
Congratulations to Lauren Beaman, Preeya Singh and Amelia Machin on their first County match, may this be the first of many.
