On a beautifully warm and sunny day, the Cotswold Golf Club (formerly Chipping Norton GC), hosted the match between The Warwickshire Vets and The Oxfordshire Seniors. The Teams were very well lalanced regarding handicaps, with few shots given. All matches were closely contested with some decided on the final hole.
The course was in good condition with some very interesting holes and tricky greens. Many of the Warwickshire team, despite feeling that they had played well themselves, were very complimentary of the standard of play of the home team.
Despite making a spirited effort, the local knowledge of a number of the Oxfoprdshire team contributed to the 5 games to 3 win to Oxfordshire. Both teams enjoyed a delicious and welcome post-match meal using the opportunity to catch up with golfing friends.
