WVLGA v Derbyshire at West Midlands Golf Club on Tuesday 19th September 2023
The weather forecast wasn’t very promising – wind and rain. The rain was mostly drizzle but the wind was certainly strong. At least it was on our backs for the par 6!
Our President, Sue Timberlake along with the Derbyshire captain and vice-captain saw us off the first tee and endured some of the worst weather.
Unfortunately Warwickshire were unable to field a full team so only 7 matches were played and considering the conditions there was some excellent golf with Derbyshire coming out on top 4.5 to 2.5.
West Midlands GC provided us with an excellent meal, the catering staff very obliging as some players had to leave immediately after the match. Thank you to all the Warwickshire players, your efforts are greatly appreciated.
