Warks Vets v Staffs ll Tri-County Morgan Trophy match on 4th August at Coventry GC
The Staffs Captain, Vice Captain and President turned out to support their team, whilst our three were all playing in the match. A lovely sunny day, with coffee on the balcony before play.Course was in fantastic condition and how nice to have the Coventry Lady Captain there at the beginning of the day to welcome us
Staffs unfortunately had the advantage on us, as their Captain had given the Course Handicaps, rather than playing handicaps, meaning they all had 2 extra shots. Not realising this until after play, Warks were mainly lambs to the slaughter, losing the match 6:2, with just one win , and two matches halved. A shame, as perhaps some of the matches would have been close, although we don't really think it would have affected the result.
At a later date, it was decided by the three Counties that the result of the day would stand but the Heather Morgan Trophy would not be awarded for 2021 due to Administrative difficulties
