MARY TURNER BOWL 2012 Runners Up Pairs Tracy ATKIN and Rachel RUSTED |
Warwickshire, along with Staffordshire and Worcester & Hereford County Teams, competed for the Mary Turner Bowl at Olton Golf Club on Monday 15th October 2012. The weather was quite breezy but bright.
It was a very interesting start to the day as there were two accidents on the M5 and M6 motorways and with 30 minutes to go, all three teams were missing players!
However everyone made it ready to start and the competition turned out to very be very close. Worcester & Hereford won the 'Bowl' by just 1 shot from both Warwickshire and Staffordshire. County Captain Bobbi Waugh commented " The Warwickshire girls played really well and were very unfortunate to lose out by such a narrow margin"
Tracy ATKIN (Leamington & County GC) and Rachel RUSTED (Nuneaton GC) shot a betterball Nett 67, losing out on countback to a Staffordshire pairing.
