The end of the Warwickshire Girls season is fast approaching but our top 3 girls have been in very different places battling to win prestigious events!
Arianna Virik has been in New York competing in the Underrated Tour Championship Final for the Curry Cup played at Liberty Golf National GC. Playing with the Statue of Liberty in the background she had an amazing experience there, competing against some of the best players from the USA. The course and clubhouse were apparently spectacular! She finished in 7th place in the top 40% and was the 2nd best British competitor.
Following her success in her first international for the England under 16 team v Scotland a few weeks ago, she has again been selected to play v Ireland at Ballybunnion GC in October. Congratulations Arianna, so proud of all you have achieved so far this year!
Girton GC near Cambridge may not be in quite the same league as regards venue and course condition but no one could question the commitment of Maisie Halstead and Serafima Taylor who were representing themselves and Warwickshire in the Midland Champion of Champions. A 36 hole scratch event it is not for the faint-hearted and with conditions extremely testing with no one in either the girls or boys category finishing under par, the course was a challenge.
Really good results though from them both with Maisie finishing in 2nd place in the under 18 category and Serafima also in 2nd place in the under 16s! Congratulations again to them both as yet again they have represented us and themselves very proudly!
