It was most definitely not summer weather for the last Seniors Open of the Season, the Summer Am Am held at Whitefields Golf Club on 15th September. There was serious concern on the previous day as to whether it would go ahead due to the forecast of gale force winds.

As the ladies made their way back to the clubhouse, windswept and exhausted there was definitely a sense of relief, but also a sense of achievement and the atmosphere was buzzing.
Whitefields had also very generously offered a Nearest the Pin prize on their signature Par 3 16th hole – a difficult hole at the best of times, but proved to be almost impossible in the wind on Monday. Many thanks to Whitefields for hosting the ladies so well and thanks to Ben Timms the Club Secretary for taking the first shift as starter, followed by Deb Reynolds and Sue Timberlake.
Lesleys Kiener and James manned registration and the results on what was a great end of season event for the Seniors.
Ladies were very generous and raised £146 on the ball sweep for the Junior Girls.
President Sue Timberlake congratulated everyone on making it round in the wind and presented the prizes. The team from The Warwickshire were clear winners with 78 points, but there were 3 teams with 73 points and after applying countback, a team from Rugby narrowly lost out on the prizes. The winners were as follows:
