This year the Summer Meeting was held at The Welcombe Hotel Golf Course, Stratford on Avon.
44 players from 16 different Warwickshire clubs played in this event and despite numbers being down on last year, everyone enjoyed their days golf.
Players reported the course was quite challenging, but despite this some excellent scores were returned.
Claire Howells and partner Liz Moverley had a particularly good round coming in first in both the Gross 74 and the Nett 63 respectively.
This meant they took the Nett Prize – The Sugar Bowl Trophies.
County Captain Rachel Rusted and Second Team Captain Deb Nicholls also played well and finished just behind Claire and Liz by one shot in the Gross, resulting in them taking home the Harthill Jubilee Goblets awarded for their Gross Score of 75.
The Summer Salvers, awarded to the best Nett pair with a combined Handicap index over 40.8, went to Oakridge pairing Angie Barnett and Susan Randle with a Nett 64.
Well done to all competitors who supported the Summer Meeting, and especially to the worthy winners.
Many thanks to Maggie Taylor, Lesley James, Deb Reynolds and Elizabeth Earnshaw for all the organisation and running of the event.
Our thanks also go to the Warwickshire Union for providing Mark and Phil as referees and Chris as our starter.
Thanks also to the Welcombe Golf Club for hosting our event, to Sam and his team in the Pro Shop along with Eleanor and the team behind the bar.
