The second Warwickshire U14 match of the season, We were welcomed to Little Lakes Golf Club on a beautiful sunny day to play a very strong Worcestershire team.

First out were Captain Jake Frearson & Kamraan Arastu against a strong experienced pair, the Warwickshire boys were up against it early doors on a course you really needed to know, very quickly they were 2 down through 2 holes, the standard of golf was very strong in this match and by the turn the Warwickshire pair had managed to turn the score round and were 1 up going into the back 9. Warwickshire then birdied the par 5 13th to go 2 up and seemed in control, by the time they reached the par 3 17th hole they were still 1 up, Worcestershire made a birdie 2 to take the match A/S going up the 18th where Worcestershire would come out on top winning the final hole for a 1up victory.

Next up we had Leeroy Orr & William Pagett, these boys came straight out the traps and were soon 2 up through 5 holes, then going 3 up at the turn, The Worcestershire pair tried to stage a come back but the Warwickshire lads were in control of their game and held on to see their match out with a 2&1 victory

Match 3 we had experienced campaigner Charlie England & Archie Williams, this match was nip and tuck on the front 9, this match could go either way!!!! The match reach the 14th where the Warwickshire boys would win the hole to go 1 up with 4 to play, news then comes through that on the Par 5 16th Charlie holes out for eagle to go dormie 2 up, Worcestershire then won 17, so one up going up the last, by this time all the other matches on the course had finished and there was a big crowd following, step up Archie Williams, on the 18th green he had a 12ft put for the match, him and Charlie studied the line, a couple of practice strokes of the putter, then this was his moment, the putt went straight into the hole which was then followed by a fist pump, a 1 up victory to Warwickshire.

Match 4 Sam Tooth & Kilian Sintorn were next up for the young Bears, Warwickshire got up early in the match but they came up against an opponent in top form who turned the match round in Worcestershire's favour who got to the turn 3 up, Sam and Kilian had their work cut out but these two like a battle and have a never give up attitude and were constantly working as a team (which may I add is a common theme through this Warwickshire squad) Kilian then birdied the 14th to get a hole back but unfortunately they were running out of holes with Worcestershire winning the match 3&2.

The 5th and final match we had two lads making their county debut, Fintan Bullock and Seb Hemmimgs who were up against it from the start, things were not going their way but both lads had a never give up attitude and played their golf with smiles on their faces, unfortunately the Worcestershire pair just had too much coming out on top and winning the match.

The final score Worcestershire 3 Warwickshire 2
