BUCKS SECURES COUNTY FINALS PLACE
Buckinghamshire recorded another two convincing match wins against Worcestershire & Herefordshire and Oxfordshire on Day 2 of the Midland South County Week at Leamington & County Golf Club to remain undefeated, retain their crown and book a place in the County Finals in September at Stoneham Golf Club.
The quality ball striking and outstanding display of power, combined with an exacting short game finesse by this youthful team from Buckinghamshire, shone like the sunshine over this rolling parkland course, as the team continued to dominate in style with a former England international in Thalia Kirby and other players destined for the professional ranks, following their development as collegiate golfers in America.
Undeterred by this superiority, the remaining five counties are still fighting it out for second and third places with all to play for tomorrow in the last day’s match.
Team Warwickshire returned an excellent performance today winning the morning match 3/2 against Northamptonshire but narrowly lost out to Worcestershire & Herefordshire in the afternoon by the same margin. This means that Warwickshire is in line for a third place if they are successful against Berkshire tomorrow.
