BUCKINGHAMSHIRE TAKES EARLY LEAD
The Midlands South County Week swung into action at Leamington & County Golf Club today enjoying another fine day of intermittent sunshine and overcast conditions.
By the end of the day Buckinghamshire, last year's winners, has set the pace as the team to beat and were leading at the end of the day having won both matches convincingly against Warwickshire 4/1 and Berkshire 4.5/.5
In the first morning match Worcestershire & Herefordshire halved against Berkshire and had an equally tight match against Northamptonshire in the afternoon, to record a 3/2 win with the last singles match finishing on the 18th.
Host county Warwickshire came back fighting in the afternoon to defeat Oxfordshire by 3/2 for a boost of confidence for tomorrow's play.
The quality and calibre of the golf across the six teams was equally matched by the presentation of the course, which for this event is being played on an extended composite course with a mix of ladies and men's tees to increase the length and degree of difficulty.
