Warwickshire Pro's v Warwickshire Am's
The annual match between a ‘select’ Warwickshire County team v The Warwickshire Pro’s took place on the Arden Championship course at The Forest Of Arden on Tuesday 3rd May.
This keenly contested fixture has not happened for a couple of years due to Covid restrictions, but it was good to lock horns once again with some ex-County 1st team players and a mix of established Midland teaching Professionals.
With reasonable weather and usual Arden course challenges the following 4-ball betterball matches took place:
Alex Ford (Copt Heath) & Rob Tovey (Olton) v Andy Gorman & Lee Brotherhood - Match Halved
Niall Collins (Robin Hood) & Ian Smith (The Warwickshire) v Nick Gilks & Dan Phillips - Warks County WON 4&3
Karl Smith (Handsworth) & Chris Staite (Robin Hood) v Chris Freeman & Ben Smallman - Pro’s WON 5&4
Tom Ibbertson (Hearsall) & Stuart Bloxham (Hearsall) v Fred Jewsbury & Sam Dodds - Pro’s WON 2up
Match Result - Warwickshire County 1.5 Warwickshire Pro’s 2.5
