FEBRUARY WINTER ALLIANCE

From left: Anne Deakin & Julie Busst (Walmley GC), Veronique Lintin (County Captain), Peggy King & Sarah Bush (Leamington & County GC)

The competition was well attended:  Ladies from 22 clubs competed today in the Winter Alliance better ball event at Whitefields Golf Club.

The winning pair from Walmley Golf Club were Anne Deakin and Julie Busst  with an amazing 41 points and the runners-up were Peggy King and Sarah Bush from Leamington and County with 38 points.

Although the format was changed to help with the pace of play, as men's 4 balls were starting immediately prior to the Winter Alliance,  it seemed a bit slow for some but the format was enjoyed.  The course conditions allowed for trolleys which helped everyone and together with mild temperature for this time of year and no rain,  this made it a good day to be out.

Whitefields was enjoyed by everyone and The Lady Captain, Julie Ritchie, made everyone extremely welcome.

The ball sweep for the Warwickshire Girls raised £56.
