The Junior Champion Club tournament was held at Ladbrook Park recently to find the Club who will represent the County at the National Finals next August.
The event is open to Clubs to enter a team of 3 players who play from full handicap in a stableford format with the best 2 scores to count towards the team score. We had 8 teams participate with some great individual performances.
For the individual prizes The Belfry's Lilly Phelps returned 35 points to take second place with a better back nine that Moor Hall Golf Club's Ben Storer. Taking the top individual score was home member Fredi Pearce with a fantastic 39 points on a 5 handicap.
In this format one good individual score makes a huge difference for the team score and this year was no different as Fredi put his score together with Ladbrook Parks second best team score of 34 points by Liam Scagell to make a total of 73 points which would prove too tough to beat. Ladbrook Parks third player was Oliver Smith who returned 25 points.
Sat in second place on a total of 65 points was Oakridge Golf Club with scores from George Tracey (33) and William Roche (32) counting for the team and third team member Holly Elliott with a very respectable 30 points.
Oakridge took second place from Olton Golf Club who were only one shot further back with their team of Harvey Rogers-Cullen (34), Harrison Porter (30) and William Raybone (27).
