GOODYEAR CHALLENGE CUP WON BY WARWICKSHIRE PLAYER
The Goodyear Challenge Cup was inaugurated in 1897 as a competition for members of golf clubs in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire and is played in a three year cycle at Clubs from each County.
The 2019 event took place at Nuneaton Golf Club on Monday 19th August 2019 where 50 players had entered. The weather was fine and breezy with some occasional showers and the golf course was in excellent condition with greens described as fast.
As Warwickshire County were hosts this year, how good was it to see that the Goodyear Challenge Cup winner was one of our most popular members, Claire HOWELLS.

2nd Net - Jessica WALKER (Nuneaton Golf Club), 98 - 23 = 75 on the back nine holes from
3rd Net - Tracy BISHOP (Silverstone Golf Club), 88 - 13 = 75
Best Gross - Mary MacLAREN (Wellingborough Golf Club), 77 (Mary was also 75 net but could only receive one prize)
Nearest the pin on 11th - Yen PHAM (Shirley Golf Club)
Nearest the pin 17th - Bina SHAH (Wellingborough Golf Club)
