STABLEFORD SERIES 2 at COVENTRY HEARSALL

The second of the Stableford Series was played at Coventry Hearsall Golf Club on Sunday 9 June 2019.  It was a cloudy day to start and quite cold with rain forecast, however, it turned out to be a beautiful day with some stunning sunshine the afternoon.

Grateful thanks must go to Coventry Hearsall for allowing us to hold this competition, particularly since the course was closed for play the day before. Therefore, special thanks must go to the Greens' staff who worked extremely hard to present the course so well and also to the bar and catering staff who looked after us and stayed on late so that some of the girls could have pizza after they had played

Special thanks to all the ladies who accompanied the girls playing 9 holes round the course.  These ladies made sure that the girls correctly followed the Rules of Golf, made sure the recording of scores was correct and that the cards were signed and completed.   Unfortunately, Rosie Swaffield, Coventry Hearsall Ladies Captain was ill and unable to attend but Lesley Duff did a marvellous job in deputising for her.

Lesley welcomed everyone to the club and also took photographs of the winners with Jane Murphy acting as starter.   As Rosie was unable to be there, the prizes were presented by Elizabeth Earnshaw.

In the 18-hole Competition, the winner was Holly ELLIOTT from Oakridge Golf Club playing off 13 who scored 37 points and second place went to Arianna VIRIK from Kenilworth Golf Club, playing off 24 who scored 34 points  -  pictures No 1 and 2

Another very enjoyable day with 4 girls participating who had not played in a County competition before.
