WISHAW LADIES TAKE FIRST ALLIANCE OF 2019
The third County Alliance of the season and the first of the new year was held yesterday, Monday 7th January 2019. The venue for this competition was Coventry Hearsall Golf Club and the format was Greensome Stableford. 22 Warwickshire clubs were represented and how lucky these ladies were to play a winter competition in the dry on an early January day - no sun but no rain either and it was quite warm out there at between 8/10 degrees. Will the players remember all these new rules in probably the first competition situation they were playing in since their commencement on 1st January.
The course was holding up well with fairly quick greens and the second pairing out from Stoneleigh Deer Park posted a score of 34 points which held on after many cards had been returned. True to form though, the last card in just pipped them with an excellent 36 points.

1st Gina WOSKETT and Karen BRIDGES (Wishaw Golf Club) 36 points
2nd Linda JOHNSON and Carol STAMPER (Stoneleigh Deer Park) 34 points
County Captain, Julia BURTON presented the prizes and thanked both the Club and the Lady Captain, Rose SWAFFIELD and helpers for making the event run so smoothly.
