FIVE IN A ROW FOR LISA BARTON & RACHEL RUSTED

On a glorious summer's day on Monday 6th August, the Summer Meeting, a Better Ball medal competition was held at Stratford-on-Avon Golf Course.  With the fairways looking green and lush (better than we have seen recently at most venues!) and the greens running fast, everyone in the field was looking forward to this day in the sunshine.

A good field of 72 players competed for both Gross and Nett prizes, in fact there was something for all to be interested in, if only you played well!  As in most competitions, there were some very good scores posted early, but as ever the latter players did not disappoint with even better scores in some cases.  We were seen off by Starter, Arthur Barnett, a Stratford member who is due a mention as he got everyone in the right mood for play with his knowledge of Stratford and his very cheery comments.

At the Prize Presentation Anne TURNER, Lady Captain of Stratford gave a belated welcome to all visitors and hoped that everyone had enjoyed their time at Stratford, either on the course or in the clubhouse.  County President, Caroline LASSEN replied by thanking Anne and all of her helpers who had assisted on the day making everything run smoothly.  £84 was raised in the Ball Sweep and it was good to have a County Junior selling the raffle tickets, thank you Heather.  She also thanked Stratford for hosting this event, stating that it was much appreciated.

Competition was fierce with some excellent scores recorded for both Gross and Nett prizes, with the winners listed below:
