U14 Boys versus Shropshire & Herefordshire
Saturday 12th May 2018 –
Copsewood Grange, Coventry
Copsewood Grange proudly and kindly hosted their first County match and for the U14’s first friendly competition of the 2018 season.
The Club had gone to great lengths ensuring the greens and all playing conditions were in excellent condition, as well as making both teams and attending parents were made very welcome. For that we thank them again.
Our opponents being Shropshire and Herefordshire. Warwickshire took a strong team re-enforced by our first fourball giving up 17 shots to one of the S&H players and every match conceding shots.
All the matches were played in the usual friendly but competitive spirit. Warwickshire had a couple of debutants who equipped themselves admirably, whilst S&H from their team of 12 had 7 players making their debut.
As such the result was a little less than surprising with Warwickshire running out comfortable winners 5 ½ - ½.
Thanks again to Copsewood, and to County Second Team Captain, Chris Brown, who helped organise the day and stayed to support the boys throughout the afternoon.
