As in 2013, the teams met at Walmley Golf Club for the match. The forecast was for dry weather but not especially warm. Members of the Warwickshire team were fresh from the County Championships last weekend and keen to begin. At the halfway point in the morning foursomes Warwickshire were up in only the last match but with the second match tightly contested and all square after 9. Despite Lisa Barton and Gemma Bradbury fighting hard to get back from being down at the turn to all square the match was lost on the 18th green. Claire Howells and Adelle Middleton kept their halfway lead and went on to win their match. Warwickshire were 3 - 1 down at the lunch break needing to take at least 5 1/2 of the 8 afternoon singles matches to win. A tall order.
With the first two singles matches going to Derbyshire, Claire Howells and her opponent made pars on the fiinal short hole to take a half. A fair result from a very even match. The fourth match saw Charlotte Priddle also take a half. Warwickshire's first win in the afternoon came from Adelle Middleton securing her second point of the day. Unfortunately, that proved to be the only win in the afternoon with Warwickshire eventually losing 9 - 3.
