1st team match v Leicestershire on Sunday June 3rd 2018
Leamington and County Golf Club
For the third time running we got fabulous weather for our match at Leamington and County against Leicestershire.
We started in the morning with 6 singles games playing Yen Pham, Kelly Tomlinson, Annabel Edmond, Lauren Beaman, Lisa Barton and Emma Griffin. Lisa came in with a great win but unfortunately all the others couldn’t quite beat their strong opposition so at lunchtime we were already 5-1 down.
Determined to salvage something from this, the foursomes pairings of Charlotte Priddle and Lauren Beaman, Emma Griffin and Kelly Tomlinson and Lisa Barton and Julia Burton set out to do battle in the afternoon. Charlotte and Lauren posted a great win and Lisa and Julia fought back hard to get an exciting half from dormy 2 down and managed to win the final two holes to tie their match on the 18th green.
So a 6 and a half to 2 and a half loss was recorded. So now on to County week in 2 weeks time. The Foursomes pairings are looking strong and once our team is at full strength at Denham GC we are looking forward to proving that Warwickshire are a strong and determined team.
