Warwickshire Junior Champion Club Qualifier - Olton Golf Club - Sunday 9th October
Olton Golf Club was in immaculate condition as the teams comprising of 3 players (boys or girls) fought to represent Warwickshire in the Junior Champion Club in 2023. The winners qualifying for a 36 hole team event, hosted at Woodhall Spa as part of England week.
With the best two from three stableford scores to count towards the team, it was the team from Olton comprising of Jack Playdon, Jacob McClenaghan and Armaan Basra who ensured it would be Olton Golf Club once again representing Warwickshire at the finals.
On a bright but breezy day the boys from Olton produced excellent golf to post two stableford scores of 38 points, the best individual scores returned on the day. The 76 point total gave them the victory by 7 points over their nearest rivals from Edgbaston Golf Club who finished in second with a fine team total of 69 points.
A huge thank you to Olton Golf Club for hosting this event for us and congratulations to the Olton team on another victory. We wish you every success in the finals.
