BUCKS UNDEFEATED IN COUNTY WEEK AT LEAMINGTON

The Midlands South County Week concluded today at Leamington & County Golf Club with Buckinghamshire winning the coveted title with five successive match wins to represent the region at the County Finals in September at Stoneham Golf Club.
The runners up were Worcestershire & Herefordshire who defeated Oxfordshire by 3/2 and Warwickshire finished in third place after halving the match against Berkshire.
Commenting Skye Furnace, Captain of Warwickshire said: “We have all had a fantastic week here at Leamington & County Golf Club, which has gone above and beyond to provide a warm welcome to all the counties. The course has been presented in fantastic condition which has bathed in glorious sunshine all week and the Ladies Section together with the Club Management, Professional and Catering Team could not have done more to help us stage and host this prestigious event.
“For Warwickshire to come third is a tremendous achievement and I am so proud of everyone and in particular our two young juniors, Maisie Halstead and Arianna Virik who were making their debut and performed so well gaining invaluable experience.”
