Warwickshire Ladies is hosting the England Golf Midlands South Region’s County Match Week at Leamington & County Golf Club, which starts tomorrow, Monday 13th June.

Teams from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire & Herefordshire will be competing for the coveted title and a place in the England County Finals at Stoneham Golf Club, Hampshire in September 2022.

This year’s event welcomes more junior girls than ever who are representing their county teams and includes Kenilworth Golf Club’s Maisie Halstead (14 years) and Arianna Virik (12 years) for Warwickshire.

Northamptonshire’s team of 12 includes six juniors, which highlights the strength of girls’ golf across the region.

The first match series tees off at 8.30am tomorrow, with Worcestershire & Herefordshire v Berkshire, followed by Buckinghamshire v Warwickshire and Northamptonshire v Oxfordshire.

Commenting Skye Furnace, Captain of Warwickshire said: “We are thrilled to be hosting this year’s County Match Week at Leamington and extend a very warm welcome to all the counties taking part.

“Our thanks are extended to Leamington & County Golf Club which has presented the course and clubhouse to an exacting standard and with the forecast set for sunny conditions, the event will be much enjoyed by everyone involved.

“Spectators are welcome throughout the match series and will have the opportunity to witness ladies and girls golf played at the highest level”, she added.
