Midlands South Girls League Finals
The matches took place at Shirley Golf Club on a grey day which was quite cold considering it was the end of August. We were greeted and welcomed by Jacqui the House Manager who looked after us all day and saw to our every need. Penny Dawson, the Ladies Club captain, rallied her ladies to accompany the girls round the course and took the first group out in spite of the fact she had a tight schedule as she had a meeting in the afternoon. Our sincere thanks to all the ladies who helped guide the girls safely round the course.
The competing teams were Buckinghamshire and Worcestershire & Herefordshire in the scratch section of the matches and Berkshire and Northamptonshire in the handicap section. In the scratch section the toss was won by Buckinghamshire and in the handicap section, was won by Berkshire.
The result was a draw for the scratch section after countback and as a result the trophy will be shared, with each County holding the trophy for six months.
The handicap section resulted in a win for Berkshire after countback
