Girls Stableford Series
Round 3 of the Girls Stableford Series was played at Coventry Hearsall Golf Club on Sunday, 26 September 2021. Very pleasant weather to begin with although it was quite chilly once the sun disappeared in the late afternoon. Our thanks must go to the staff at the club who were very helpful and friendly and looked after us well. Thanks also must go Ann Hawkswood, the Lady Captain for all her help and to the ladies at the club who accompanied the girls round the course. Thanks to Jane Frith for coming to help even though she had her family at home. Lesley Duff kindly agreed to be our starter so our thanks must go to her also.
Maisie Halstead (Kenilworth Golf Club) won the 18 hole competition with 30 points and the runner up was Serafima Taylor (Walmley Golf Club) with 29 points.
In the 9 hole competition the winner was Arisha Virik (Kenilworth Golf Club) with 21 points and the runner up was Nancy Reeves (Kenilworth Golf Club) with 20 points and third was Elsie Glover (Kenilworth Golf Club) with 15 points
In the Futures competition for girls who do not yet have a WHS handicap index and who play from the 150 yard markers, the winner was Erin Thompson (Copt Heath Golf Club) with 35 points and the runner up was Georgina Porter-Worral (The Warwickshire Golf & Country Club) with 28 points. As this was Erin and Georgina’s first County competition they also were presented with the Warwickshire Bear ‘stickpin brooch’.
