This year's prestigious event was held at Remedy Oak Golf Club in Dorset and contested between Gloucestershire, Northumberland, BB&O and Warwickshire.
After comfortably winning the Midlands region qualifying Warwickshire were ready to try and lift the prestigious Tankard we last won in 1991!! Representing Warwickshire were:
Rob Bardsley – Moor Hall
Warren Bladon – Kenilworth
Seb Cave – The Belfry
Steve Creed – Stratford on Avon
Sam Easterbrook – Wishaw
Tom Ibbertson – Coventry Hearsall
Louis Sanders – Copt Heath
The event is a 3-day Round Robin playing each County with 3 x Foursomes in the morning and 6 x Singles in the afternoon. Total points available in each match is 9 with 5 needed for a win.
Our opponents for the opening match were Northumberland, results are in the links below:

This opening match could have gone either way and the result was in the balance right upuntil the end. Northumberland edged the victory by 5.5 to 3.5 points.
The second match on Saturday was against the eventual winners Gloucestershire and again showed how close the margins of victory and failure are. This level of golf is stunning to watch and has England and Walker Cup players playing to a very impressive standard. Warwickshire has its England players (Seb Cave & Sam Easterbrook) and a previous British Amateur Champion (Warren Bladon) sitting amongst our finest County talent, we showed our ability and fight in these two opening matches.

This contest went right to the wire and Gloucestershire just got over the line with a 5 – 4 victory.
Day 3 saw Warwickshire take on a determined BB&O who could still win the title. With two English Amateur Champions and a Walker Cup player they would be tough to beat. Our very good Foursomes and Singles golf could not live with a few 5 & 6 under par performances.

A finishing 7-2 defeat was tough to take but every Warwickshire player had given their all and represented our County to the highest level.
