The 2021 Warwickshire Junior Order of Merit came to a thrilling conclusion as the Grand Final was held at Coventry Golf Club on Sunday, September 19th.
With overnight and early morning rain giving way to sunshine, the Boys 18-hole Grand Final Gross competition went to Niall Collins (Robin Hood) as he beat Chanon James (Coventry Hearsall) on countback with a level par 73.
Just one shot separated the leading two players in the Boys Net competition as Miles Pegg (Stonebridge) edged out home club member Charlie England with a net 67.
Serafima Taylor (Walmley) completed a gross and net double in the Girls 18-hole competition.
An eagle three on the 10th hole in a round of 83 meant she finished eight clear of Heather Gilks (Coventry) and Tia Hayes (Stratford-on-Avon) in the Gross, while one shot was the victory margin in the Net from The Warwickshire's Jessica Davies (74).
The Boys nine-hole event witnessed some incredible scores as Stanley Carter (Atherstone) backed up his win in the season-long Order of Merit by shooting a brilliant winning tally of 25 points. William Hardy (Maxstoke) and Finlay Mason (Robin Hood) were next on 22 apiece.
Girls Nine-hole Order of Merit winner Isabelle Toon (Stonebridge) had to settle for second in the Grand Final as her tally of 18 points left her one adrift of Erin Thompson (Copt Heath).
The event concluded with the presentation of the Order of Merit prizes as Finley Stokes (Atherstone) and Monty Fincher (Stratford-on-Avon) collected the Boys 18-hole Gross and Net trophies after topping their respective standings.
Katie Drew (Copt Heath) and Arianna Virik (Kenilworth), who were both representing Warwickshire in the Midland County Champion of Champions tournament on the same day, will receive the Girls 18-hole Gross and Net awards respectively at a later date.
