AT LAST A VET'S COMPETITION!!

Well, at last Warwickshire Vets were able to play a Competition, the first since October 2019. Venue of the 9 hole, 3 ball Alliance was North Warwickshire Golf Club and although some teams did drop out over the previous week, mostly covid related, there were enough entries still standing to make a Competition out of it. Date of play was Friday 23rd July,
North Warwickshire were extremely welcoming and the course had been prepared beautifully and on yet another scorching day, some high scores were expected - we were not disappointed.
Coming in 1st with 41 points were three ladies from Oakridge Golf Club - Andrea MACE, Angie BARNETT and Alicia KEMP
Runners Up (beaten on countback) also on 41 points were ladies from Whitefield Golf Club - Bev BATES, Carol Anne ALEXANDER and Karin KIRK
3rd Place with 39 points went to a Robin Hood Golf Club team (including our Captain) - Lesley JAMES, Sue BUTLER and Jenny KENTISH

Vet's Captain, Sue BUTLER did the honours at Prize Presentation as President Val BARKER could not be present as she had been 'PINGED!!' (fortunately testing negative), the night before. Sue thanked the Club for hosting the event and in presenting some flowers to the Lady Captain, Tina LEWIS, thanked her for the help given. Most of the ladies stayed for something to eat and/or drink and the Caterer was thanked for the delicious food served.
How good it was to almost be back to normal and the ladies playing certainly enjoyed being back in Competition mode and meeting up with old friends from other clubs.
