Gavin continues his great form!
Coventry Golf Club member and County Boys squad member, Ryan Gavin, is enjoying a great run of form at the moment, all at only 14 years of age.
Ryan finished tied 6th in the 36 hole Warwickshire Amateur Championship, which qualified him for the Warwickshire Mens Matchplay Championship where he faced (and beat) 1st Team Captain Karl Smith form Handsworth. Ryan met his match in the Semi final against eventual Champion Luke Allen, but took him all the way to the last hole.
On top of this he became Coventry's Club Champion which qualifies him for the Warwickshire Champion of Champions event to be held later this year.
If that wasn't enough, he finished in 5th place int he National School Finals at Belton Park which has secured a spot in the English Schools team versus Wales on 30th August at the Rolls of Monmouth.
Ryan has a very good attitude to the game and holds a talent and a calmness on the course that is envied by many. This week he turns his attention to the Scottish Boys Championship at Dumfries Golf Club.
