On yet again another scorchingly hot day, the annual BRONZE DIVISION TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP took place at Coventry Hearsall Golf Club. Again, as in most courses at this time, the fairways were browning quickly, making balls run and run and although tees and greens were very green were very fast, pitching on to them was not recommended!!

This was the third running of the Bronze Division Team competition which  took place on Monday 2nd July.  This event is open to all clubs affiliated to Warwickshire County Ladies Golf Association and today there were some 18 clubs participating.  The format for the day is that four players chosen from the Bronze Division in each club,  played with other club members in a Stableford competition. When the results were compiled, the top three scores out the four submitted from each club were included in the final points score, to give the outright winning Team.

Winners were the home team who went out first and retained their lead throughout the day although it was a very close thing at the end.  The Team consisted of Pat GANDY, Margaret TWIGGER, Tina PLATT and Jacqui BUTLER who score 94 points, with Runners up being the Team from The Warwickshire G & CC, the 2017 winners, with 92 points and 3rd being the team from Olton GC with 91 points.  The best score of the day went to Peta POYNTON from Robin Hood GC with a score of 36 points, having a better back 9 than The Warwickshire's Sharon CAWTHORNE.

Lesley DUFF, County Secretary and member of Hearsall stated after the presentation, "Coventry Hearsall Team's hoop has never been more cocked, they are all delighted."
