Warwickshire Seniors v Leicestershire/Rutland Combined 1st and 2nd Team at Nuneaton Golf Club on 26th June 2025
On 26th June Warwickshire hosted the first combined first and second team fixture at Nuneaton Golf course, with the first four teams playing 4BBB off scratch and the second four teams playing 4BBB 90% handicap difference shots taken from lowest player.
This format appeared to be well received and a repeat fixture is already in the diary for 2026.
Warwickshire started well with the scratch teams winning their games 3 ½ -1/2 .
Fielding 3 new players - Carol Davenport, Jan Barnett, and Louise Franklin, the handicap pairings were also victorious 2 ½ to 1 ½.
Resulting in an overall 6-2 win for Warwickshire.
The team did well on a dry course battling against a two club wind .
Colours were awarded to Peta Poynton.
