Format: Scratch 4 Ball Better Ball.
The day didn’t start too well with the captain being stuck in traffic for 20 minutes at the bottom of her road! However she still got to Kirby Muxloe in good time to erect the flag and banner which didn’t make an appearance at the previous match.
It was a beautiful hot day reaching about 29 - 30 degrees at some times in the afternoon, so quite tough conditions for some of us Seniors who weren’t lucky enough to have hot climate conditioning beforehand!
The greens played very well and not too quick, but all consistent and the rough was manageable . It was just the brooks that would appear in front of the greens at many holes which meant extra concentration when calculating the right club was required.
We had some good strong wins with Judith Peglar (Rugby)and Jane Betts (Edgbaston), Jenny Arnold (Coventry)and Sarah Thorley (Maxstoke), Claire Howells (Whittington Heath) and Gill Thorpe (Leamington) and Liz Moverley (Copt Heath) and Myself (Edgbaston). Two near misses for halves.
Overall score 4-4 A Draw!
We re getting better so next up on Friday 28th June Oxfordshire at Stratford Oaks.
