WVLGA 1st v Staffs 1st on Monday May 30th at Oxley Park G.C.
Warwickshire travelled to Oxley Park G.C.near Wolverhampton for our first tri-county match of the season. The weather was quite good with only a couple of showers. Not many of us had played there before and we commented that the fairways were lovely and lush and although the greens were not always very big there were plenty of undulations.
Staffs as always fielded a strong team and although Warks fought hard we lost 5-3. Lisa Barton made her debut and made a winning partnership with Claire Howells.
The match was followed by a tasty meal with some delicious desserts.
I stood in for our captain Anne who was sunning herself in Morocco, I hope she wasn’t too disappointed with the result.
