WARWICKSHIRE VETS V STAFFORDSHIRE VETS on MONDAY 5th AUGUST 2019
On a sunny day at Oxley Park Golf Club in Staffordshire WVLGA narrowly lost to Staffordshire 1st team 3 1/2 to 4 1/2. This was much closer than last year’s match with all matches being very close!! Captain Gill thanked her team for playing especially Jane Murphy and Julie Ward who were late replacements. Everyone enjoyed the course but found the downhill slopes to tricky greens difficult to manage. The food was excellent with each group of 8 players making up a table to eat as soon as they finished playing.
Colours were awarded to Julia Burton and Sharon Butler.
Staffordshire were congratulated on retaining the Tricounties Cup as they had defeated Hereford and Worcestershire earlier in the season.
