 WVLGA  Match v  Northants  on Monday July 24^th  at Coventry Hearsall G C

Although I was the first of our team to arrive at Hearsall, half the Northants team were already enjoying coffees in the clubhouse. School holidays had meant that their estimated journeys to Coventry took much less time than anticipated.

The course seemed to have benefitted from the rain over the weekend, with lush green fairways. However the greens had recently been treated and sanded. For many of us used to fast home greens, we found it difficult to adapt to the slower pace at Hearsall.

All the Warwickshire team had good games but Northants proved to be the better team on the day.

My thanks to Hearsall GC who were so helpful through all the stages of planning our match and for looking after all our needs on the day.

Result :        WVLGA Lost  1 ½  -  6 ½
