STAFFORDSHIRE WIN MARY TURNER BOWL
The Mary Turner Bowl was played for on Tuesday 9th October with the hosts for 2018 being Warwickshire and the event being held at The Warwickshire GC. This annual competition between Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Worcestershie was blessed with great weather and with the fairways still running, the long hitters were in for a field day. This annual end of season fixture saw each County fielding a Team of 12 players from 1st and 2nd team County players. Each pairing had a high and low handicapped player enjoying a Betterball format, with all scores from the pairings counting towards the final Team score.
Although Warwickshire put up a good fight we finished 3rd to a strong Staffordshire Team, who for the second year running had a resounding win. Staffordshire gained a Total score of 422 Net with Worcestershire having 435 Net and Warwickshire 441 Net.
The Warwickshire pairings were: Lauren BEAMAN & Rachel RUSTED, Annabel EDMOND & Carol O'HARE, Julia BURTON & Charlotte PRIDDLE, Sharon BUTLER & Claire HOWELLS, Lisa BARTON & Veronique LINTIN and Emma GRIFFIN & Hilary DIXON.
