SHIRLEY QUALIFY FOR NATIONAL TROPHY

In 2016 Robin Hood Golf Club won the Junior Champion Club Qualifier which saw them play in the National event at Woodhall Spa in Agusut. As last years champions they hosted this years qualifier that was played on Sunday 24th September.
With 9 Clubs entered and 3 of these being past champions it was not going to be easy to win, especially with the recent rain making the course at Robin Hood longer than players may have been used to.
The tournament was a Stableford and played off full handicap with a team of 3 players per Club with their best 2 scores to count. Analysing early Clubhouse scores 31 points was looking good for a long time!
Everyone in the Club house was kept guessing until the last few cards were returned with hosts and reigning Champions, Robin Hood vying for top spot alongside The Warwickshire The Belfry and Copt Heath.
The leaderboard continued to evolve as cards came in one-by-one and with some very good individual scores; Harry Bromwich (The Warwickshire) returned 33 points and 3rd place, Alex Ford (Robin Hood) 35 points and 2nd place and 1st place with 37 points going to Joseph Seaton (Shirley).
After the last scores were returned the leaderboard was clear with Shirley Golf Club taking top spot on 67 points with the team of Jospeh Seaton, Charlie Mintz and Oliver Beard. 2nd place went to Robin Hood Golf Club with 65 points and team members Alex ford, Harrison Kentish and Lucas Laurie. In third place on 64 points was The Warwickshire team of Harry Bromwich, Jacob Parsons and Max Dargan.
Very well done to Shirley Golf Club and we wish you luck in the English Junior Champion Club event being held at Frilford Heath in August 2018. We look forward to having the qualifier at Shirley next Autumn.
