The main event of the year takes place at Shrewsbury Golf Club on Saturday 18th June against the other 9 Midland Counties.
The competition itself is a tough school as the Team of 6 play 36 holes of stroke play, then all the players scores are added up to make a total aggregate score. The team with the best gross score qualifies for the National County Finals which this year takes place at Sandwell Park, in Staffordshire on the 23rd-25th September.
This is an event every County wants to win and to give an idea of the quality of golf needed to take home the trophy, the accumulative total of every players handicap in the field comes to an impressive +54 !
That said, a team that finishes close to par will most definitely not be far away.
The team selected by our non playing Captain Stuart Bloxham (Coventry Hearsall) is impressive and very strong with all of them playing some fine golf leading up to the event. The team in no particular order is;
