The Warwickshire Union returned to the impeccably presented par 3 course at Lea Marston Hotel and Golf Course on Sunday.
Although the field was limited in size there were some interesting results.
Round one leader Karl Mason returned another solid round of golf, scoring 37 points but more impressively only having 1 bogey over the 36 holes!
Team Manager, Nev Gardner and Captain Stuart Bloxham both sat one behind Karl on 36 points, with Nev gaining 3rd spot on back 9 count back.
The days winner was Morgan Jackson. You could be forgiven to think that a 2 under par total on 38 points was not especially electric scoring. However, when you know that Morgans front 9 consisted of a double and 4 single bogies for a 5 over par gross 32 then you realise that something great had to happen on the last 9 holes.
Morgan only had 2 pars on the back 9 amongst his 7 birdies! - get scoring well done Morgan.
It is at times like this that real time scoring would be brilliant to watch. This is easier to understand by looking at the stats below...
You can see clearly that Morgan with only a few holes to play was a minimum of 5th place, but a closing barrage of Birdies sealed the top spot.
Many thanks once again to Darren Lewis and all at Lea Martson Hotel for giving us the use of the course.
The Final event at Nailcote Hall for those that have qualified will be a tight finish! Order of Merit rankings will be updated on this news article shortly.
