A rare sunny Summer’s day greeted us as we arrived at Stinchcombe Hill, a delightful well-tended golf course with spectacular views over the Bristol Channel, for this friendly fixture which lived up to that billing.
The Warwickshire team’s performance matched the weather and in spite of the away team having to give shots (in some instances 2 per hole) won by 6 matches to 2. It is worth noting that members of Gloucestershire County Vets Golf Association are over 60 years of age and can join with handicaps up to 36.
