This Trophy match seemed to be going the way of a Warwickshire victory with matches 1-3 being in the away team’s favour, Jean Badman and Val Barker having an emphatic win 6/4. However, apart from Lindsey Brooks winning her singles match due to the late withdrawal of Val Cushing who suffered a violent allergic reaction on the way to the match, the tail end of the team could not find a win. With the match halved, this means that Warwickshire now needs to beat Staffordshire by a better margin than Worcestershire, should they beat them in order to wrest the trophy from Worcestershire.
