On a beautiful Summer’s day with Copt Heath golf course playing at its best, the Warwickshire 1st team, without some key players, set out on the difficult task of trying to beat a team of Staffordshire players with low handicaps. The opposition proved to be too stiff and with the exception of Gill Thorpe, partnered by Bev Belcher recently returned from injury, no pairing recorded a win. Carol O’hare, playing alongside the Captain, was a shining light having 4 birdies to secure a halved match.
