Warwickshire Golf

This match previously scheduled for May had been brought forward a month.  The teams met bright and early on a dry but very cool morning ready to do battle over 36 holes on the course at South Staffs Golf Club.  The course looked fabulous with the greens running especially quickly for so early in the season.
Staffordshire had a strong team taking the first three foursomes matches convincingly with Warwickshire's first point coming in the last match from Gemma Bradbury (Coventry Hearsall GC) and Adelle Middleton (Coventry GC), both players making their debut for the Warwickshire 1st team.
After an extremely cold morning the sun warmed the air slightly for the afternoon.  Again Staffordshire made a strong start with Warwickshire unable to secure a win until match 6 which went to the last putt on the 18th for Helen Dellow (Stoneleigh Deer Park GC) to win 1up, closely followed by another point for Adelle Middleton who won her singles 2 & 1.
Overall a decisive win to Staffordshire 9 - 3.  Let's hope for better in the match against Derbyshire next month.
