Warwickshire Golf

Our final match of the season was played at Robin Hood GC on a very wet day, on Monday 14th September.

It was another close encounter in which Warwickshire just fell victim to Worcs/Herefordshire. We scored conclusively in three matches; the pairings of Marsha Button & Carol O’Hare and Pat Hale & Bev Belcher both won 5/4 and Sue Timberlake & Liz Moverley won 4/3. Val King & Cynthia Straten achieved an honorable half but we were unable to gain that all-important extra point.

Robin Hood, however, were immaculate hosts. The course proved long & tough but with excellent greens.  In addition the teams tucked into an excellent, well deserved post match meal with a lovely atmosphere surrounding all tables.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to all Ladies who have supported and participated in matches this year. We have tried our best and achieved some excellent wins, but on other occasions, unfortunately, just fallen short of the finishing line.

However, Vets golf is not all about results and from my perspective, 2015 has been a thoroughly enjoyable year. I hope you all have too.
