Our annual match against the Gloucestershire team took place at the very popular and scenic Broadway GolfClub. Thirty seven Warwickshire Vets signed up for this match making team selection rather challenging, however the selected team with handicaps ranging from 7 to 24 gelled very well, played some outstanding golf and returned a brilliant 6½ to 1½ result for the Warwickshire Vets. The course was in very good condition with slick greens and the very strong wind made some holes particularly tough.
The post-match meal was very welcome and delicious. Our thanks go to the Gloucestershire Vets Captain Pat for arranging the match at her home club and to the Gloucestershire team for making us feel so welcome.
